Bionica: ¿Cuanto tiempo tienes haciendo coro?

Kelmit: El reloj, Tendence.

Gracias Kelmitt!!!

I would like y'all to meet Kelmitt! He's from Bayamón, Puerto Rico and has not only a lovely voice but quite the style too!
Kelmitt has done back up singing for various artists and will soon launch his career as a solo artist, so keep a look out.

Bionica: How long have you been singing backup?
Kelmitt: Approximately for two years.

Bionica: Two years? With whom did you start?
Kelmitt: I began recording with Miguelito and I knew Farruko before we started signing. Farruko approached me and we began working together. He was able to continue his career and we're still working together today.

Bionica: How did you begin your career as a singer?
Kelmitt: In a small studio that we had in Bayamón in Puerto Rico. We started doing this as a game and were given the opportunity to have a our music heard and here we are.

Bionica: Have you always liked the urban genre?
Kelmitt: Yes, I like all types of music, but we really identify ourselves with the urban genre which can be fused with all types of music and many genres. This is why we are in this genre which is also known as the genre of the streets.

Bionica: Do you plan to go forth as a solo artist?
Kelmitt: Of course, we're working on that. I will be under Farruko's label and we will be coming through in a few months.

Bionica: Tell me, what did your mom say when you told her "mom, I want to be a singer." ?
Kelmitt: She told me "that's not going to give you anything" (laughs) and told me to go to school and find a normal job. My advice to any teen–to anyone, is to do what you love regardless of what it is. You can be a painter, someone that works with garbage…if you love it and you know how to do it, go for it.

Bionica: How long did it take you to reach this dream?
Kelmitt: Wow. Many years…we've been working in this for about five years and have many late nights at the studio. This isn't easy, it's hard. It's not like you can just sing and bam you're an artist and made a hit. You have to work very hard and be dedicated to be able to move forward. This is like being a basketball player, baseball player or any other career. You have to really dedicate time and effort.

Bionica: How much time to you spend recording in the studio?
Kelmitt: It depends on what we call the muse–and how our muse is. The least is an hour and on average we can be there for about two hours & a half. We usually go to the studio and write there. We don't go over with the songs already written. We go, listen to the track and begin writing.

Bionica: So the track is your inspiration?
Kelmitt: Exactly, or vice versa, it can be either way.

Bionica: Well my blog also has to do with fashion, can you tell me who you're wearing?
Kelmitt: I'm wearing Armani and my shoes are Lacoste.
Bionica: And your watch?
Kelmitt: The watch? It's Tendence.

Thanks Kelmitt!!!
