Ellos son "los mas sueltos del reggaeton". Jowell Y Randy, un duo boricua cuya carrera lleva éxitos como Loco, Agresivo y No te veo (Los Leones) entre otros. Les cuento que una de mis favoritas es Loco, tema veraniego con el que es obligatorio bailar.

Este duo lleva mas de 5 años en el ambiente musical. Tienen colaboraciones con varios artistas como Plan B, Wisin & Yandel y el BlackFather Yaviah.

Formaron parte de la agrupación Los Leones y luego sacaron su primer disco como dúo Los Mas Sueltos del Reggaeton en el 2007. Jowell Y Randy son los de El Momento tal y cual como lo dice su disco mas reciente.

Bionica: ¿Cómo se conocieron ustedes?

Jowell Y Randy: Nos conocimos en le año 2000 en una actividad familiar en que mi hermano lo invito a él. Mi hermano estudiaba con Randy en la escuela, lo invito a una fiesta de mi familia y ahí nos conocimos. Nos hicimos amigos primero y luego pues yo supe que el cantaba, que le gustaba la música y ahí empezamos a compartir ideas y por ahí surgió el duo. Nos conocemos hace 11 años ahora.

Bionica: ¿Qué estudiaba tu hermano?

Jowell Y Randy: En la escuela superior ósea highschool.

Bionica: ¿Qué los motivo a hacer música juntos y no individual como solistas?

Jowell Y Randy: Cuando nosotros estábamos empezando, se estaban pegando mucho los dúos, que si Wisin Y Yandel, Baby Rasta Y Gringo, Héctor Y Tito. Era que uno cantaba y el otro rapiaba. Y como nosotros tenemos ese flow que él canta y yo rapeo, pues dijimos "mira, vamos a unirnos por que también se nos hace mas fácil ayudarnos uno al otro" y también uno tiene un apoyo directo y eso fue lo que nos motivo a hacer un dúo.

Bionica: Su canción Siguelo Bailando Solita salió en el Draft 2005 junto a varios artistas mas. Luego de eso participaron en la gira del Chosen Few II El Documental. ¿Cómo fue esa experiencia para ustedes? Unos muchachos jovencitos…

Jowell Y Randy: Completamente vírgenes, porque en esa gira fue que perdimos la virginidad con tanta–

Bionica: Con tantas mujeres… (risas)

Jowell Y Randy: Con tantas ciudades que visitamos. Estábamos nuevos, pa' ya pa' Chosen Few y fue una experiencia grandísima porque nosotros estábamos haciendo una gira pa' gente grande. Nosotros éramos como los teloneros de ellos, le habríamos el espectáculo a ellos. Eso era "ok Jowell Y Randy les toca a ustedes", nosotros éramos los que abrían y en los discos de varios artistas nosotros éramos los últimos en ese entonces. Eso nos sirvió mucho en ver los grandes y ver el proceso y aprender a valorizar lo que tenemos hoy en día. Ese fue el principio.

Bionica: Y de ínter actuar con tanta gente diferente, se que fueron a varias universidades ¿cómo fue eso para ustedes?

Jowelly Y Randy: Fuimos a la universidad de abogados de Washington y en la gira la parada más importante, yo creo que fue allí. Allí hay gente que ni le importa el reggaeton me entiende y se lleno, había mucha audiencia, nos escucharon e hicieron preguntas también. Todos eran gente estudiando para hacer leyes. Hoy en día son abogados porque me imagino que hay muchos graduados ya. Que me enseñaran eso fue grandísimo porque lo aprendí apreciar ahora–hoy día lo aprecio muchísimo. Es grande como quiera.

Bionica: El genero llega a los abogados, a los fiscales, llega a todos lados.

Jowell Y Randy: Una bendición hablarles a esas personas, ellos son lo que llevan la batuta pero ellos no saben que atrás de nosotros hay un montón de gente que traía el reggaeton me entiende.

Bionica: ¿Qué consejo les dan uds. a la juventud que tanto los sigue y los admira?

Jowell Y Randy: Le decimos a la juventud que estudien, eso es muy importante, que vayan a la escuela y que vayan a la universidad porque primeramente tienen que tener una base–una base segura. Creo que es muy importante que se preocupen por lograr terminar los estudios para luego buscar un trabajo estable a pesar de que quiera ser artista–si quieren algunos, si quieren ser lo que sea. Siempre tengan un part time, algo que les ayude a tener comida en su nevera y un techo seguro eso es lo mas importante. Eso es lo que les aconsejamos, que sigan en la escuela y que trabajen y que después piensen en esos sueños que tienen. Pero siempre hay que tenerlo presente, los sueños.

Bionica: Se que están trabajando en una línea de ropa. ¿Qué me cuentan sobre eso? ¿Es ropa deportiva? ¿De hombre o mujer?

Jowell Y Randy: Una línea de ropa urbana que esta más enfocada en lo que es América del Sur pero nuestros primeros contactos son aquí en Estados Unidos, son los primeros que están apoyando y donde más fácil se nos hace colocar nuestra tienda es aquí en Estados Unidos. La primera tienda Akolatronic esta en Orlando. En Miami venden la ropa Acolatronic en downtown en una tienda que se llama Shoe Gallery, que es una de las tiendas mas dura de Miami, donde tu encuentras los zapatos mejores de todo Estados Unidos y mi ropa pues esta ahí. Eso es un adelanto grandísimo. Son los primeros que tienen la ropa, pero mas enfocao en lo que es América del Sur. Estados Unidos tuvo la primera tienda de Akolatronic.

Bionica: ¿Se puede comprar a través del internet?

Jowell Y Randy: En el internet también por Akolatronic.com pero tienes que tener tu cuenta paypal que es lo que requiere la página para que puedas hacer tus pedidos y todo este seguro. Pues ya saben Akolatronic.com, con tu cuenta paypal y puedes pedir lo que tu quieras.

Bionica: ¿De quién visten hoy?

Jowell Y Randy: (Jowell) Randy es el que me enseña todas las modas nuevas. Realmente como te digo, yo no soy jodon en eso, soy una persona muy flexible en cuanto a la ropa. Soy una persona que me puedo poner un disfraz para un show y no me molesta, no me abochorno. Me puedo poner unos pantalones cortos para un festival playero y unos tenis–mira estos pantalones que tengo ahora mismo fue Randy que me los dio, los tenis también. (Randy) estos pantalones son Akolatronic. (Jowell) Yo soy bien llevadero con eso de la moda y me gusta porque siempre al final me gusta el resultado, porque siento que soy original y que cada cosa que utilizo me queda bien a pesar que aveces dicen "a pero que eso no se usa así" pero a mi me queda cabrón. Me entiende, porque me siento bien.

Bionica: Ósea es tu propio estilo. ¿Y tu Randy tienes algún estilo definido?

Jowell Y Randy: Si pues estoy vistiendo de la gente de Akolatronic. Estos pantalones son los nuevos de Akolatronic, los zapatos son special edition, hay 35 en el mundo. Son Adidas se llaman Jeremy Scott teddy bear edition.

In reggaeton they are "los mas sueltos" (what's hot in reggaeton). Jowell Y Randy are a Puerto Rican duo whose hits like Loco, Agresivo & No te veo (Los Leones) among others have been rocking the charts for quite some time now.

And there song Loco is one my absolute favorites, it's a summer song with that gotta tap your feet beat. I love it.

These boys have been in the music industry for more than five years and have collaborations with some very good artists under their belt. Some of those artists include Plan B, Wisin & Yandel and BlackFather Yaviah.

They were part of Los Leones and soon after came out with their first album as a duo Los Mas Sueltos del Reggaeton in 2007. Jowell Y Randy are definitely of the moment as their new album El Momento says.

Bionica: How did the two of you meet?

Jowell Y Randy: We met in 2000 at a family activity in which my brother invited him. My brother went to school with Randy and invited him to a family party and that's where we met. We became friends first and then I learned that he sang and really liked music. After that we started sharing ideas and that's how the duo came about. We've known each other for 11 years now.

Bionica: What did your brother study?

Jowell Y Randy: He was in high school.

Bionica: What motivated you to sing together as a duo and not as solo artists?

Jowell Y Randy: Well at the time in which we started, duos were really in. You would hear Wisin Y Yandel, Baby Rasta Y Gringo and Héctor Y Tito. One person would sing and the other would rap. Since we have that flow in which he (Randy) sings and I rap, we said to ourselves "look, let's get together because it's also easier for us to help one another" and you also have direct support from each other and that's what motivated us to become a duo.

Bionica: Your song Siguelo Bailando Solita was released in El Draft 2005 album which incorporates many other artists. Afterwards you took part in the Chosen Few II El Documental tour. How was that for you? These young guys…

Jowell Y Randy: Total virgins, because we lost our virginity on that tour with so many–

Bionica: Women…(laughs)

Jowell Y Randy: With all the cities that we visited. We were babies for Chosen Few, it was a huge experience in which we were making a tour for some major people in the industry. We would open the shows. It went "ok Jowell & Randy it's your turn", we'd open for the artists and in the albums we were the last ones. It was an experience that served us well. In seeing such artists and the process we learned to really appreciate what we today. It was the start of everything.

Bionica: You interacted with a lot of different people. How was it when you went to the different colleges and universities?

Jowell Y Randy: We went to the University of Law in Washington and I think that it was the most important stop of the tour. There were people there who didn't even care about reggaeton and the place was packed. The audience listened and asked a lot of questions too. They were all studying to become law makers and today they're lawyers–I imagine that many of them have already graduated. For me, to have seen that was huge and I have learned to appreciate it now. Either way, it's a big deal.

Bionica: Reggaeton reaches lawyers, prosecutors, everyone.

Jowell Y Randy: A true blessing to have spoken to such people. They're the ones that hold things down, but what they don't know is that aside from us there's a lot more people who also bring reggateon.

Bionica: What advice do you give to the youth admires you so much.

Jowell Y Randy: Our advice to the youth is to study, it's really important to go to school and to college because you need to have some sort of foundation–a secure foundation. I think that it's really important to make sure that your able to finish school so that you can have a stable job, even if you want to be an artist or whatever you want to be. Always have a part time, something that will help you keep food in your fridge and a roof over your head. That's our advice, keep studying, work and after that think about the dreams that you have. Always keep your dreams present.

Bionica: I know that you are currently working on a clothing line. What can you tell me about it? Is it sportswear? For men or women?

Jowell Y Randy: It's a line of urban clothes that has a focus on South America, but our first contacts are here in the US which is where we first received support and where it's easier for us to have our store. Our first Akolatronic store is in Orlando. There is a store in downtown Miami called Shoe Gallery which happens to be one of the best where you can find the hottest shoes in the US and our clothes are there. That's something really great for us. The US has the first Akolatronic store.

Bionica: Is it possible to buy the clothes online?

Bionica: Who are you wearing today?

Jowell Y Randy: (Jowell) Randy keeps me up to date with the latest trends. What can I say, I'm really flexible wen it comes to clothes. I'm the type of person that can wear a costume for a show and it doesn't bother me, I won't be embarrassed by it. I can wear shorts for a beach festival and sneakers–see these pants that I'm wearing now, Randy gave them to me and the sneakers too. (Randy) the pants are Akolatronic. (Jowell) I'm very easy going with fashion because in the end I always like the result, I feel original and that everything I use looks good besides the fact that some people say " oh but that doesn't go", it looks good on me. I feel good.

Bionica: It's your own style. Randy do you happen to have a certain style?

Jowell Y Randy: Well right now I'm wearing Akolatronic.These are the new pants from Akolatronic, my sneakers are special edition, there are 35 in the world. They are Addidas Jeremy Scott teddy bear edition.

El 31 de Julio, Mujeres Latinas en Acción de New Jersey tuvo su 9a ceremonia de becas en la cual 5 señoritas fueron honoradas al recibir una beca luego de escribir un ensayo en ¿Cómo te ayudara una educación a hacer una diferencia en la comunidad Latina? Ademas de la beca, la chicas también recibieron un reconocimiento del congresista Bill Pascrell y del senador John Girgenti.

Las recipientes de la beca son Rosa P. Mendoza de 17 años y Margarita D. Cabrera de 18 años, quienes van a estudiar biología en la Universidad Estatal de Montclair. Ambas son dominicanas, Cabrera desea obtener su doctorado en psicóloga y Mendoza en pediatría. Colombiana, Vanessa Atehortua de 19 años estudiará bio-quimíca este otoño en el colegio de Sta. Elizabeth. Atehortua desea ser veterinaria.

Fannia R. Santana, dominicana de 17 años también estudiará biología con la especialidad de una neuróloga psicoanalista pero en la Universidad Kean.

La mexicana de 18 años, Lucelly Barrera irá a estudiar ingeniería de sistemas en el Instituto de Tecnología de New Jersey.

Ambar Cabrera, una de las coordinadoras de las candidatas en participación del desfile estatal dominicano de NJ asistió al evento. Cabrera fue acompañada junto a las reinas Laura Reynoso de 15 años en representación a Hermanas Mirabal, Sulanni Polonia de 17 años para La Vega, Joanne Gonzalez con 19 años, Puerto Plata y Amy Gonzalez de 16 años, tercera princesa del Festival dominicano.

Mujeres Latinas en Acción de New Jersey had their 9th annual scholarship ceremony on July 31, where 5 young ladies were honored in receiving a scholarship after their winning essay How will a college education help you make a difference in the Latino community? was chosen. Aside from the scholarship, these ladies also received a congressional recognition from congressman Bill Pascrell as well as a citation from senator John Girgenti.

The scholarship recipients are Rosa P. Mendoza, a 17 year old Dominican who will be a freshman at Montclair State University along with Margarita D. Cabrera, 18, who is also Dominican.Both girls will be studying biology with hopes to become doctors, Cabrera a psychiatric doctor and Mendoza a pediatrician. Colombian, Vanessa Atehortua is a 19 year old who will attend the college of St. Elizabeth in the fall to study biochemistry in lieu of becoming a veterinarian doctor.

Fannia R. Santana 17, Dominican freshman to study at Kean University where she will major in biology in pursuit of becoming a psychoanalytic neurologist.

The event was a success in fundraising money for the scholarship recipients of next year. There was a tricky tray in which some of the prizes varied from dinners, trips to the beauty salon and even some Juicy Couture charms and bracelets.

Ambar Cabrera, one of the coordinators of the candidates in participation of the NJ Dominican parade's beauty pageant also attended. Cabrera was in the company of the following beauty queens, Laura Reynoso a 15 year old student at representing Hermanas Mirabal, Sulanni Polonia, 17, for La Vega, 19 year old Joanne Gonzalez of Puerto Plata and Amy Gonzalez, 16 who is the 3 princess of the 2011 Dominican festival.

El Nuyorquino Tony Touch o Tony Toca comenzó como bailarín b-boy en los 80s. Su pasión por la música lo ha llevado por todo el mundo con sus mezclas como 50 MC's 1, 2, & 3 entre otros. En el 2005 salió el disco ReggaeTony y la canción Play That Song con Nina Sky y B-Real de Cypress Hill se convirtió en un clásico. Toca esta trabajando en The PieceMaker 3 The Return of the 50 MC's en el cual uno puede estar seguro de que va a escuchar sólo lo mejor.

Bionica: ¿Cuántos años tenías cuando hiciste tu primer mix tape o cinta variada?

Tony Toca: Cuando hice mi primer mix tape tenía unos 16 o 17 años. Se trataba de esa música 88 como Biz Marqui, Big Daddy King–la época de oro.

Bionica: ¿Qué te inspiro a hacerlo?

Tony Toca: Antes que nada yo era un bailarín b-boy. Lo de dj llego más tarde, pero para mi todo comenzó como bailarín b-boy.

Bionica: Tus mezclas son buenísimas. ¿Tienes algún genero favorito con el que te gusta trabajar?

Tony Toca: Mi genero favorito–hay tantos… Muchos no saben, pero me gusta mucho la música house. Todos los domingos tengo hago el Funk Box en NY. Por ahora estamos en Santo's Party House. Llevo 3 años haciendo el Funk Box allí.

Bionica: Últimamente estas trabajando en Piece Maker 3 The Return of the 50 MCs. ¿Qué podemos esperar en este disco?

Tony Toca: Mas de ese hip-hop directo, tradicional al estilo de los 90s. Sabes pistas duras, rimas con nada de trucos, sin ganchos payos. Nada muy teatral, sólo ese hip-hop derecho al centro. Con sus raperos favoritos desde KRS a Eminem. Toco todos.

Bionica: ¿Tendrás algunas pistas Latinas ahí?

Tony Toca: Todo lo que hago siempre esta influenciado, siempre van a sentir un poco de esa vibra Latina.

Bionica: ¿Me podrías decir un poco más sobre tu estilo personal?

Tony Toca: Mi estilo personal, me gustan los Nikes, mis airforce ones. Hoy tengo unos dunks. Hace calor entonces tengo una camiseta con cuello v. Luzco mi cadena rollo oro ya que iba a ser una baile de los 90s a la vieja escuela. También tengo mi aretico Frankie Ruiz–estilo Geraldo, regresando a los 80s.

In 2005 ReggaeTony was released and Play That Song featuring Nina Sky and B-Real of Cypress Hill became a classic heard anywhere and everywhere. Toca is working on The PieceMaker 3 The Return of the 50 MC's in which one can definitely expect to hear all the best.

Bionica: How old were you when you made your first mix tape?

Tony Touch: When I made my first mix tape I was about 16 or 17. It was all the 88 music like Biz Marqui, Big Daddy King–Golden Era stuff.

Bionica: What inspired you to do it?

Tony Touch: I was a dancer before anything as far as a b-boy breaking. The dj-ing came later, but it started for me off as a b-boy dancer.

Bionica: Your mixes are very hot. Do you happen to have a favorite genre that you like working with.

Tony Touch: My favorite genre–so many… A lot of people don't know, but I'm a real house head. Deep soulful house, that's my favorite. I do a party every Sunday called the Funk Box in NY. Right now we're at Santo's Party House. I've been doing that party for 3 years.

Bionica: You're currently working on the Piece Maker 3 The Return of the 50 MCs. What can we expect in this album?

Tony Touch: Just more of your favorite boom bat hip-hop, traditional 90s style. You know hard beats, straight rhymes, no gimmicks, no corny hooks. Nothing too theatrical, just straight to the gut raw hip-hop. Your favorite rappers everybody from KRS to Eminem. It's everywhere.

Bionica: Do you have any Latin beats hidden in there?

Tony Touch: Everything I do is always influenced, you're always going to feel a little Latino vibe.

Bionica: Would you be able to tell me a little bit about your personal style?

Tony Touch: My personal style, I like my little Nike's, my airforce ones. Today I am wearing dunks. It's hot out here so I have my regular v-neck t-shirt. I did throw on the gold roll chain because it was a 90s old school party. And my little Frankie Ruiz earring– Geraldo style, 80s throw back.

En la ciudad de Nueva York, hay un lugar en el cual se siente el calor de la República Dominicana. Mientras suben los números de las calles, se siente aun mas el amor de esa pequeña isla. Entre las calles de las 170 y pico nació un grupo de muchachos que convirtieron su cultura de música en algo mas. Ellos son Bachata Heightz.

Bionica: ¿Quiénes son Bachata Heightz?

Bachata Heightz: Bueno, Bachata Heightz son 5 integrantes, Chino, J Heightz,

J-Ru, El Fenomeno y D Major. Somos un grupo directamente de Washington Heights, New York City. Tenemos más de 10 años en la música, pero 3 años firmados y gracias a Dios tuvimos éxito con la canción Me puedo matar. Gracias a la gente estamos busy, trabajando en lo que nos gusta.

Bionica: ¿Cómo comenzaron?

Bachata Heightz: Empezamos desde jovencitos, todos somos familia y desde chiquitos estábamos en la casa haciendo escándalo con latas y vaina hasta que tuvimos dinero para comprar una tambora, güira y guitarra. Ahí prendimos.

Bionica: ¿Cuántos años tenían cuando comenzaron?

Bachata Heightz: Uff!!! Toda la vida por que en la familia de nosotros todos los tíos tocan guitarra también, pero empezamos aprender como a los 9 o 10 años por ahí. Hemos seguido con las tradiciones de los tíos y padres de uno.

Bionica: ¿Son hermanos, primos...?

Bachata Heightz: J Heightz el cantante y el Fenomeno de primera guitarra son hermanos, yo (D Major) soy primo hermano de ellos (J Heightz & Fenomeno) y Chino & J-Ru somos criados juntos del mismo bloque. Somos todos familia.

Bionica: ¿Cómo se sintieron uds. la primera vez que escucharon su canción en la radio?

Bachata Heightz: Yo (Chino) estaba en un carro con J-Ru, yo le dije espera te, para el carro que me va dar una vaina. Como si el 'ta manejando (D Major) jajajaja. Alex Sensation fue quien toco la canción.

Súper emocionado. Esto a sido un sueño de nosotros desde pequeño. Al ver que el sueño tomo el primer paso que es sonar en la radio nos sentimos muy contentos .

Gracias a Dios esa canción ha tomado vuelo y no ha parado de volar.

Bionica: ¿Cómo iniciaron su carrera musical profesionalmente?

Bachata Heightz: Profesionalmente hacen ya 3 años. Desde pequeños estábamos en la casa haciendo música y como ya sonábamos bien, decidimos que íbamos hacer dinero con esto. Empezamos a tocar en nightclubs... de ahí empezó Bachata Heightz.

Bionica: ¿Dónde fue el primer lugar en que tocaron?

Bachata Heightz: Fue una fiesta privada en un hall.

Bionica: ¿Quién escribe las canciones?

Bachata Heightz: Yo (J Heightz) escribo las canciones y los muchachos me ayudan con los temas, las ideas de las canciones. El Fenomeno y D Major me ayudan con la música, siempre tomamos ideas de cada uno formando una canción.

Bionica: ¿Cómo los conocieron para contratarlos?

Bachata Heightz: Bueno en el comienzo fue entre amigos y familia, cada familiar hablaba con otro y entre el bloque nos llamaban para tocar. Gracias a Dios fuimos creciendo poco a poco, dando nuestra tarjeta con nuestro manager.

Bionica: ¿Qué es lo que mas les hace falta de la casa cuando están de gira?

Bachata Heightz: La comida, la cama porque uno duerme pero no es igual que la cama de uno (D Major) y la wifey (J Heightz).

There is a place in New York in which you can feel the warmth of the

Dominican Republic. As the street numbers get bigger, you can feel the love of that small island even more. And somewhere among the streets of 170, a group of boys turned their love of music into something more. They are Bachata Heightz.

Bionica: Tell me, who are Bachata Heightz?

Bachata Heightz: Well Bachata Heightz is a group directly from Washington Heightz, we are Chino, J Heightz, J-Ru, El Fenomeno and D Major. We have been in the music business for more than 10 years and thankfully to God we have been signed on to a label for 3 years and have had success with the song Me puedo matar. Thanks to the fans we have been pretty working on what we love.

Bionica: How did you get into music?

Bachata Heightz: We got into music at a very young age, we're all family and would use cans and what not to make noise at home. Later on we had money and were able to buy a guitar, güira and a tambora and went from there.

Bionica: How old were you when you started?

Bachata Heightz: Uff!!! Our whole lives because in our family all of our uncles play guitar too, but we began to learn at around 9 or 10 years old. We have continued the traditions of our uncles and fathers.

Bionica: How did you feel the first time that you heard your song on the radio?

Bachata Heightz: Well I (Chino) was in the car with J-Ru and I told him to stop the car because I needed to breathe. Like he was the one driving (D Major) hahaha.

Alex Sensation was the person that played the song.

This has been our dream since we were small and to see that this dream has taken it's first step by our being played on the radio, we're just so happy.

We thank God because this song has taken flight and is still going.

Bionica: How did you begin your musical career professionally?

Bachata Heightz: Professionally, it's been 3 years now. We made our music at home at a young age and as we fine tuned it, we decided that we could turn it into something more. We began playing at nightclubs...and from there grew

Bionica: Where was your first gig?

Bachata Heightz: It was a private party at a hall.

Bionica: Who writes the songs?

Bachata Heightz: I (J Heightz) write the songs and the guys help me out with the themes and ideas for the songs. El Fenomeno and D Major help me with the music. We always put our ideas together forming a song.

Bionica: How were you discovered?

Bachata Heightz: Things first started out by word of mouth from our family who would tell a neighbor from the block that would call us over for a gig. God helped us and we grew little by little as we have out our cards alongside our manager.

Bionica: What do you miss most from home while you're on tour?

Bachata Heightz: Definitely the food, your bed because although you do sleep it's not the same as having your own bed (D Major) and the wifey (J Heightz).

Los Pitbulls Alexis & Fido han mostrado que con esfuerzo todo se puede. Ellos han sido parte de discos como La Misión 3 A Otro Nivel y Los Benjamins: La Continuación. En The Pitbulls hicieron su debut oficial como duo.

Bionica: Chicos, ustedes son un duo que través del tiempo se han mantenido con mucho éxito y esfuerzo. Tienen temas con varios artistas como Wisin Y Yandel y en su album Down to Earth tuvieron una colaboración junto a Don Omar & Toby Love. ¿Qué podemos esperar en Perreología?

Alexis & Fido: Bueno nosotros llevamos muchos años en esto, desde que comenzó el genero ya llevábamos tiempo escribiendo y haciendo este estilo de música. Después cuando exploto el boom del reggaeton vimos que esto era una carrera profesional y ahí fue que como duo Alexis Y Fido empezamos. Hemos tenido mucho éxito y discos que han pegao súper fuerte estando en los primeros lugares de los Billboards y hemos sido nominados para los Latin Grammys.

Nuestro disco pasado Down to Earth, fue el disco que nos abrió mucho las puertas, ahí colaboramos con Don Omar y Toby Love quien es de aquí de Nueva York. Toby Love es nuestro hermanito que siempre sale en todos los discos. Perreologia es un disco que hicimos con todo el corazon Alexis Y Fido. Viene mucho perreo, mucha música discoteca que es lo que esta pegá en nuestro barrio–volvimos a la esencia del barrio. Un tema que ahora estamos promocionando es Contestame el Teléfono junto a Flex. Es un tema comercial, no es perreo pero es bailable y tiene ritmos Latinos.

Bionica: Digan nos un poquito sobre el lanzamiento de Perreologia y como llego a ser.

Alexis & Fido: La Perreologia sale el 22 de Marzo y bueno ahí vienen muchas colaboraciones. Tenemos a Tony Dize, Daddy Yankee en Rescate, que fue el tema que sacamos para calentar lo que es Perreologia. Está Cosculluela que ahora mismo esta bien caliente en la calle y tenemos a Eddie Avila, uno de los pioneros en este genero y uno de los mas reales. Eddie Avila no sale en cualquier disco y esta saliendo en el nuestro. También esta Nova & Yory un duo nuevo en Puerto Rico que esta dando mucho de que hablar, creemos que son los mas pegao ahora mismo en Puerto Rico al nivel de lo que es el underground. Franco el Gorila esta, lo que hace un disco bien variado, tiene mucho reggaeton y perreo, 90% del disco es perreo.

Bionica: Digan me una cosa ¿quién escribe las canciones?

Alexis & Fido: Bueno, de escribir las canciones, yo (Fido) soy él que lleva el

concepto y entre Alexis & yo nos dividimos el trabajo. Alexis escribe la parte de él,

yo sigo el concepto y así la vamos llevando.

Bionica: ¿Quién le hace las pistas?

Alexis & Fido: En cuestión de los beats, nosotros mismos vamos escogiendo,

depende del estilo de canción, pues escogemos al que va a producir. En este

disco participó mucho Fino Como el Haze que es él que trabaja con la gente de

Plan B, él chamaco la estuvo montando duro. También trabajamos con

Mambo Kings y Nesty. Trabajaron un montón de gente en este disco.

Bionica: Cuenten me algo sobre el party de album release que viene.

Alexis & Fido: El album release party va ser aquí en NY. Ahora mismo no tengo

todos los detalles pero ya se esta planeando todo lo que viene con el marketing

del disco, pues lo acabamos de entregar. Sale el 22 de Marzo y esa es la fecha en

que salimos a arrancar por ahí a dar promoción y todo.

Alexis & Fido: Well we have been part of the music industry for quite some time now, since the movement of reggaeton we have been writing and making this type of music. After the boom of reggaeton, we saw that this was something that we would be able to do professionally and that's when we began as a duo Alexis & Fido. We have had a lot of success and many of our songs have become hits reaching the Billboard top and we have also received nominations for the

Latin Grammys.

Our past album Down to Earth, really opened the door for us. We collaborated with Don Omar and Toby Love who is from here in NY. Toby Love is our little brother and always comes out in our albums.

Perreologia is an album in which we Alexis & Fido put in our hearts.

There is a lot of perreo (reggaeton) coming and a lot club music which is what's hot in our barrio–we went back to the essence of the barrio. Right now we are promoting Contestame el Teléfono featuring Flex. It's a commercial song, not as much perreo but it's danceable and has Latin rhythms

Bionica: Tell us a little bit about the release of Perreologia and how it came about.

Alexis & Fido: March 22 is the release date for Perreologia and we have many collaborations. We have Tony Dize, Daddy Yankee on Rescate, which is the track we chose to warm up what Perreologia is. There is Cosculluela, who is really hot right now and we have Eddia Avila, one of the pioneers of reggaeton as well as one of the more real out there. Eddie Avila doesn't come out on all albums and he is coming out on ours. We also have Nova & Yory, a new duo in Puerto Rico whom we think are rocking the charts in Puerto Rico in regards to what is underground (urban music). Franco el Gorila is also on the album which makes it quite varied, it has a lot of reggaeton and perreo, 90% of it is perreo.

Bionica: Tell me something, who writes the songs?

Alexis & Fido: Well, when it comes to writing the songs, I (Fido) usually have the concept and between Alexis and myself, we divide the work. Alexis writes his part, I go on with the concept and that's how we go.

Bionica: Who does your beats?

Alexis & Fido: For the beats, we choose depending on the style of the song and then pick who is going to produce. Fino Como el Haze, who works with Plan B took a big part in this album and did a really nice job. We also worked alongside

Mambo Kings and Nesty. A lot of people worked on this album.

Bionica: Tell me about the upcoming album release party.

Alexis & Fido: The album release party will be here in NY. We don't have all the details yet, but everything that has to do with the marketing for it is getting planned, we just turned it in. It comes out on March 22 which is the date that we have set out to promote and all.

Hola hola, hoy tenemos una entrevista con Fulanito también conocido como Dose. Ya saben, el hombre de canciones como Wiggle It, Cepilla Cepilla y Callate.

Dose tiene un comienzo en música house aunque en sus álbumes de Fulanito se nota una combinación de tal con merengue típico lo que nos da una de esas canciones que nunca pueden faltar en las fiestas.

Bionica: Se que has estado en la industria musical ya por unos 20 y pico de años, pero Fulanito llego mas tarde al fin de los 90s. Has tenido mucho éxito y te has mantenido hasta mediado del 2000. ¿Qué nos puedes contar sobre de tus últimos proyectos.

Dose: ¿Cómo están? Es Dose Fulanito. Tengo mas de 20 años en la música y he estado trabajando con el house y merengue durante todos los 90s, pero ahora me estoy regresando a mis raíces que están en la música house. Voy a seguir con el merengue y perico ripiao para toda le gente que lo pide, pero también vuelvo a hacer esa música house que tengo ansias de hacer. Es lo que he estado haciendo, a pesar de viajar por el mundo.

Bionica: ¿Qué te hizo decidir volver a la escenario de música?

Dose: Bueno cuando inicie mi carrera, comencé produciendo mi propia música, incluso lo primero que compre fue un equipo para trabajar. Hice mis demos y producciones. Fue así como compuse mi primer demo el cual lleve a la compañía musical y me firmaron; tomando control y haciendo mis producciones que continué con 2 in a Room, 740 Boyz y Fulanito.

En los últimos cuatro años he trabajado con productores diferentes como Guary & Cleyton, Maffio y ANX quien tiene una canción buenísima con Don Omar. He trabajado con un tremendo equipo y este año que viene vuelvo a hacer mis producciones. Es algo que me ha hecho falta y en ves de dejar tal en las manos de otros, voy a mostrar lo que puedo.

Bionica: ¿Cuales son tus planes para el momento? ¿Tienes algún album ya?

Dose: Ahora mismo esta trabajando en un album de Fulanito y a la misma vez en uno de música house como mencione antes. Estoy procurando algo en ingles ya que hace tiempo que no lo hago, canciones como Wiggle It, Do What You Wanna Do and Shimme Shake que hice el comienzo de los 90s.

Bionica:¿Dónde pueden ir tus fans para aprender sobre la gira?

Bionica: ¿Otra cosa, me puedes decir de quien vistes?

Dose: Bueno, hoy cambie las cosas un poco con unos tenis, jeans, camisa y corbata roja para combinar con mis gafas rojas de Gucci. Tenía un abrigo bubble jacket por el frío. Usualmente visto de saco, pero hace demasiado frío hoy.

Hey everyone, today I have an interview for you with Fulanito also known as Dose. You know, the man with hits such as Wiggle It, Cepilla Cepilla and Callate.

Dose has a foundation in house music although in his Fulanito albums, we can hear a great combination of house with merengue típico equaling a dance must for all parties!!!

Bionica: Now I know that you have been in the music industry for a good 20+ years now, but Fulanito was born sometime in the late 90s. You have had some great hits and stayed fluent until about mid 2000. Can you tell us about what you have been working on since.

Dose: What up this is Dose Fulanito. I have been working on house music and merengue throughout the whole 90s, right now I am going back to my roots–to house music. I am still going to to do merengue and perico ripiao, but I have been itching to do some of my old house stuff. It's what I have been working on aside from traveling the world.

Bionica: What made you decide to rejoin the music scene?

Dose: Well you know, when I started out in my career, I began producing my own stuff and the first thing I did before getting into the business was buy my own equipment. I made my own demos, did my own productions and everything. When I put together my first demo I took it to the record company and that's how I got signed; just by taking charge and producing my own stuff, which I continued to do throughout the years with 2 in a Room, 740 Boyz and even Fulanito;

In the last four years I have been working with different producers like Guary & Cleyton, Maffio and ANX who has a hot song with Don Omar right now.

I've been working with a hot squad for a hot minute right now and this next year coming I'm going to do my own productions again. I've been itching to do that, so instead of leaving it in other people's hands, I'm going to show what I can production wise.

Bionica: What are your current plans for the moment? Do you have a new album out already?

Dose: Right now I'm working on a new Fulanito album and simultaneously on a house album like I mentioned earlier. I'm also working on some english stuff that I haven't done in a while like Wiggle It, Do What You Wanna Do and Shimme Shake, things that I did in the early 90s.

Dose: Well today I kind of flipped it and threw on some sneakers, jeans, a white button down shirt with a red tie to match my red Gucci shades. I wore a big bubble jacket because it's cold outside although I usually wear a suit, but it's a little too cold.

Amigas & amigos, hoy les tengo una entrevista con Fuego cuya canción

Que Buena Tu Ta es una fusión de ritmos indios con el merengue urbano al cual se le refiere como mambo.

La carrera musical de Fuego, comenzó cuando él tenía 16 años y a los 19 fue descubierto como artista por Plan B. Fuego nació en el Distrito de Columbia (DC) y fue criado en Maryland.

Bionica: Fuego cuéntanos un poquito de ti y tu introducción a la música. ¿Qué te hizo decidir que querías una carrera musical?

Fuego: Bueno, yo siempre he tenido la música a mi alrededor. Mi padre era músico y tocaba todo tipos de instrumentos como las congas, bongos & guitarra. Él tocaba con grupos locales y también llegó a tocar con el salsero Raulin Rosendo. A veces el tocaba canciones de Juan Luis Guerra, Héctor Lavoe o clásicos del merengue y la salsa.

Mi padre le enseño a mi hermano a tocar instrumentos, aunque a mi personalmente no me llamaban la atención. Me gustaba aprender las canciones y cantarlas.

Por eso quise cantar y cuando escuche el hip-hop latino y el reggaeton me pareció interesante. Pensé que yo también lo podía hacer y comencé a escribir mis propias líricas.

Mi primo también me inspiró, el cantaba en el choro de la iglesia y ahora esta bajo la compañía de Sony con el Grupo Optimo.

Bionica: ¿Cuando supiste que querías ser cantante, cómo fuiste representando tu música?

Fuego: Yo estaba tocando en shows locales y abría para Plan B, Tego Calderón y Daddy Yankee.

Plan B fueron quienes me abrieron la puerta, ellos me vieron un día que les abrí el show en Maryland y les gustó mi canción. Los promotores del evento fueron contactados por Plan B y luego de ahí nos mantuvimos en contacto por un año. Fui a Puerto Rico, grabé para ellos y me invitaron a ser parte de El Draft 2005 con

Me Gustan Todas y después pude participar en el Chosen Few 2 con la canción Aquí Conmigo. En Chosen Few 2 fui entrevistado y también tengo un video. De nuevo fui invitado a grabar, esta vez para Chosen Few 3 The Movie en el cual esta mi primer éxito.

Bionica: Ahora como cualquier cosa en la vida, una carrera en el mundo artístico requiere tiempo y perseverancia. ¿Qué dirías que fue tu fuerza para lograr esta meta?

Fuego: Mi hija y mi familia, nosotros no somos los mas pobres ni tampoco los mas ricos. Tenía que hacer algo para cuidar de mi familia.

Amo a la música, siempre esta conmigo.

Bionica: ¿Ahora que eres un artista establecido, qué consejo deseas compartir con otros que les interese una carrera musical y como trabajar en torno a ella?

Fuego: Yo pienso que una carrera musical puede ser algo difícil primero. No es así como muchos lo ven, de un día para otro, requiere mucho trabajo, sacrificio y dedicación. Mi consejo es que si en verdad quieren trabajar con música, deben estar preparados para sacrificar cosas en la vida y tiempo con su familia.

No se duerme mucho. Si lo quieren hacer, tienen que creer en lo que hacen y seguirlo.

Bionica: ¿Para las fashionistas, como describes tu estilo?

Fuego: Mi estilo...visto mucho de negro. Me gustan cosas diferentes como los hoodies y las chaquetas, aveces los pantalones skinny pero no muy skinny <se rie> Gucci me gusta mucho, uso Guess y Armani, me gustan los tenis supras, algunas chaquetas Nike y los tenis Jordan para relajarme.

Bionica: ¿Entonces casual y relajado?

Fuego: Casual, tengo unos zapatos de Louis. Visto de todo, puedo usar un tuxedo hoy y mañana jeans con botas, a veces me gusta estar cómodo. Tengo que pensar en los tenis de baloncesto de antes...

Bionica: Con los colores vivos y tobilleras altas.

Fuego: Si... Así como soy en la música de versátil soy vistiendo.

Bionica: ¿Tienes algún diseñador favorito? ¿Qué es lo que mas te gusta de sus colecciones?

Fuego: Me gusta Louis mucho, sus tenis están de últimas. También me gusta Armani, lo uso bastante.

Aveces me gusta combinar ciertas cosas y ponerme creativo, pero estoy trabajando y no es fácil en términos para ir de compras con tiempo...

Bloggers & friends, today we have a very special interview with Fuego whose hit Que Buena Tu Ta fuses Eastern beats all the way from India with that of merengue urbano also referred to as mambo.

Fuego began performing when he was about 16 and got discovered around age 19 by Plan B. He is a DC native who grew up in Maryland.

Bionica: Tell us Fuego a little bit about yourself & your introduction to music. What made you decide to pursue a musical career?

Fuego: Well, I always had music around me as my dad was a musician who played all types of instruments like the congas, bongos, and guitar base. He would play with local bands and at one point played with Raulin Rosendo the salsero. Some of the music he would also play was that of Juan Luis Guerra, Héctor Lavoe, classic merengue and salsa.

My dad taught my brother to play and although I wasn't as into the instruments, I still liked learning the songs and singing them. That's why I wanted to sing and when I first heard Latin hip-hop and reggaeton it sounded really interesting to me. I thought about how I could do it too and started writing my own lyrics.

My cousin inspired me as well, he began singing at church and is now signed to Sony with Grupo Optimo.

Bionica: Once you knew that you wanted to become a recording artist, how did you go about presenting yourself and your music?

Fuego: I was doing local shows and opening up for acts like Plan B, Tego Calderón and Daddy Yankee. Plan B opened up the doors for me. They saw me perform one day that I was their opening act in Maryland and liked the song that I had. The promoters that booked the event were contacted by Plan B and from there we got in touch and kept communication for about a year. I went to Puerto Rico, recorded for them and was invited to be part of El Draft 2005 with Me Gustan Todas and was then able to participate on Chosen Few 2 with Aquí Conmigo where I was interviewed and have a video. I was also invited to Chosen Few 3 The Movie which has my first big single.

Bionica: Now like anything in life, a career in the music industry takes time and perseverance, what would you say your drive was in maintaining this goal?

Fuego: My daughter and family, we aren't the poorest nor the richest. I had to do something to take care of my family.

I really love music, it's been around me all the time.

Bionica: You are now an established artist, what advice would you like to share with others who are also interested in a musical career and how they should work towards it?

Fuego: I think a musical career can be real difficult at first. It's not like everyone sees it from one day to another, it takes a lot of work, sacrifice and dedication and a lot of time of your life.

My advice is, if they really want to do music, they gotta be prepared to sacrifice things in life and time with their family. You don't get a lot of sleep. If they really want to do it, they gotta believe in what they do and work it.

Bionica: For the fashionistas out there, how would you describe your style?

Fuego: My style...I like to wear a lot of black. I like different things like hoodies and blazers, sometimes fitted jeans that are skinny but not that skinny <laughs> I also like Gucci a lot, I wear Guess and Armani, like supras, some Nike blazers and Jordan's to relax sometimes.

Bionica: So more casual and relax?

Fuego: Casual, I got some Louis shoes.

I do everything, I could be wearing a tuxedo today and tomorrow jeans & boots, I like to be comfortable sometimes so I just do everything. I gotta think about basketball sneakers back in the day...

Bionica: With the high tops and fly colors.

Fuego: Yea...just as I am in music, versatile–I am dressing

Bionica: Do you have a favorite designer? What do you like most about his or her collections?

Fuego: I like Louis a lot, I like his sneakers, they're hot. I like Armani too and wear it a lot.

Sometimes I like to put stuff together and get creative, but I'm on the road so it's not that easy in terms of shopping to take your time...
